Mrkonjic Grad is a small town in the southern part of the Northwest Krajina region. Whereas the town itself isn’t an attraction the nature around certainly is. Balkana along the main road leading towards Bihac is an excellent transit spot, with restaurant, campground and a large lake for swimming. If you’re a nature enthusiast who loves to bike, climb or just enjoy the great outdoors, Don’t Miss has just the place for you. The Pecka Outdoor Centre in Bosnia’s Northwest is one of the country’s premier spots for biking and climbing. Outdoor Centre, located in between the towns of Sipovo and Mrkonjic Grad, is situated in the village of Pecka where nature and traditional rural life still dominates. In fact, it is sandwiched between the sources of the Pliva and Sana Rivers, two of the cleanest and most beautiful rivers in all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Just a bit north of there is the Zelenkovac eco center, a rustic place for alternatives situated deep in the forest that offer peace, tranquility, and a cool jazz fest every year.
