Gallery 11/07/95

Gallery 11/07/95

Gallery 11/07/95 is, understandably so, a sacred place for this award winning photographer. The gallery is adorned not only with the wonderful and touching photography of Tarik Samarah, but with videos of survivor testimonials, maps, and the sobering wall of death where the names of each victim is printed on the wall and portraits of many of the men and boys who lost their lives. It is an opportunity to understand. The sole intent of the author is to shed Srebrenica of its political veil and portray it from a very human perspective. It does not aim to point fingers.  It aims to open hearts and minds. Gallery 11/07/95 is an artist’s attempt to make sense out of human cruelty. He spent years at exhumation sites in the mud, he spent countless hours talking to the victim’s families, he has spent his entire life behind the lens of a camera in an attempt to capture the beauty and horrors of human nature. The gallery also hosts other exhibitions on human rights violations from around the world, already having a Syria and Anne Frank collection displayed.
