Starting as a railway and bus station, then turning into an Art Gallery and subsequently a Museum of Contemporary Art of Republic of Srpska, this edifice from 1891 has been a symbol of Banja Luka for decades. Once inspired by trains and busy travelers, today visitors of this place are inspired by artists from all over the world and their contemporary works of art. Like most public objects built during the Austro-Hungarian rule at the end of the XIX century this national monument of Bosnia and Hercegovina was designed in the spirit of historicism with emphasized elements of neo-renaissance. The US Embassy to BiH has regularly provided grant support for the improvement and work of the museum. Visit to the Museum and all the exhibitions is free of charge and they are opened from 10.00 to 22.00 every working day.
